Error Code: 267 is a commonly faced error in the Roblox community that kicks players out of servers and completely prevents them from rejoining. This error usually indicates that the player has been kicked or banned from the server due to a violation of the game rules, which is generally a result of usingscripts, plugins, or third-party programs.

This error comes accompanied by the message “You were kicked from the game”, which is usually followed by a reason, such as “You have been banned for hacking/cheating suspicion”.

It’s important to note that this error can often occur even when the player is not in violation of any game rules. There can be many factors behind this wrongful conviction, such as an unstable internet connection, Firewall interference, and browser extensions.

To help you figure out the cause and solution of this error, we’ve listed all the possible causes and their most effective solutions below.

1. Wait for the Ban to Be Over (If Applicable)

Before you try any of the solutions we’ve listed in this guide below, take a look at the error message and see whether it says how long you are banned.

For example, if you are banned for 10 hours, the error message will show the following message: “You have been banned for –reason-(unbanned in 10h).”

If you see such a message, then the only way to rejoin the server is to wait for the ban to be over. If you do not want to wait, you can try joining the server using a different account or contacting the admin of the server to remove the suspension from your current account.

But if you do not see such a message, you can try the solutions we’ve listed below to help resolve the error.

2. Check your Internet Connection

If your internet connection’s speed is very unstable, or you are experiencing packet loss, it can be the leading cause of the error you’re facing. When trying to play on a Roblox server with a slow internet connection, the server can flag your varying download/upload speeds and packet loss issue as indicative that you’re using some sort of exploit.

Therefore, the first solution is to verify that your internet connection is working properly. To do this, you first need to check your internet’s download and upload speed. To do this, you can simply search “Internet Speed Test” on Google and click on the first result. This test will show your current internet speed.

After that, you can perform a packet loss test on your (Windows) computer by following the steps listed below:

1. Press the Windows key to open the Start Menu.
2. Type “Command Prompt” and press enter.

   

3. Type the following command into the Window and press enter:

   ping 8.8.8.8 -n 10

   

The test will only take a few seconds to finish. After it finishes, it will tell you the % amount of packet loss you’re getting. If the amount is 5% or more, your internet connection is very unstable.

To fix an unstable connection, you can try the methods we’ve listed below:

2.1 Restart your Router and Modem

A quick and easy way to fix internet connectivity issues is to restart your router and modem. This process is called a “Power Cycle” and it fixes all types of internet issues by resetting your connection to your Internet Service Provider (ISP). This renews all the processes that are executing in your router and modem.

To properly restart your router and modem, follow the steps we’ve written below:

1. Remove the power bricks of your router and modem (if you have one) from their sockets.
2. Wait for 3 minutes.
3. Plug the power bricks back into the sockets.
4. Wait for the devices to start up.

Make sure to wait at least 3 minutes before you plug the power bricks back in to give enough time for the electric charge stored within the devices to dissipate. Plugging them back in too quickly can lead to further unwanted issues.

2.2 Use an Ethernet Cable

If you’re using Wi-Fi to connect to your router, you should switch over to Ethernet instead. Ethernet provides a much more stable connection and allows for higher bandwidth. Plug an Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port located on the back of your system, then plug the other end into the port at the back of your router.

After connecting the Ethernet cable, disconnect the Wi-Fi on the system. This will immediately make your connection much smoother and will likely fix your packet loss and download/upload speed issues.

2.3 Switch to a Different Internet Connection

If your internet connection is still unstable even after trying the above solutions, you should try switching over to a different connection altogether. If you don’t have another connection available, you can simply connect your PC to your phone’s data using your phone’s Hotspot feature.

Follow the steps below to connect your PC to your mobile data:

1. Disconnect your system’s current internet connection.
2. Enable Mobile Data on your phone.
3. Go to your phone’s settings and enable the Portable Hotspot feature.

   

4. Go into the Wi-Fi connections on your PC and connect to your phone’s Hotspot.

   

After ensuring that your internet connection is stable, open Roblox and try connecting to the server again. If you continue getting kicked from the server, there’s no need to worry as we’ve listed many more solutions below.

3. Set Browser as Default and Clear Browser Cache

When browsing the Roblox website, make sure that the browser you are using (Google Chrome/Mozilla Firefox) is the default browser on your system. Many Roblox users have reported that not using the default browser was the root cause of this error.

To set your current browser as default on your system, follow the steps we’ve listed below:

1. Press the Windows key to open the Start Menu.
2. Type “Default Apps” and press enter.

   

3. Scroll down to the Web Browser option.
4. If you want to change the default to a different browser, click on the browser currently present under this Web Browser option.
5. From the list of options, select your desired browser.

   

After setting your browser as default, the next step is to clear your Browser Cache. Your Browser Cache stores temporary data from the websites you visit, such as Roblox. This allows the browser to have quick and easy access to the data whenever it is needed.

However, this data can become outdated or corrupted over time. A corrupted Browser Cache can lead to all sorts of errors when visiting different websites, and it can even prevent you from accessing Roblox games.

Therefore, clearing the Browser Cache will ensure that there’s no corruption present in it. And it will allow your browser to download fresh data from Roblox.

Do note that clearing the Browser Cache will get rid of other saved data, such as your login details on websites. So before you clear the cache, remember to note down your login details in case you forget them.

Follow the steps below to clear your Browser Cache:

1. Open your browser.
2. Click on the three dots present in the top-right corner of the Window.
3. Hover your cursor over the “More Tools” option.
4. Click on the “Clear browsing data” option.

4. Disable Browser Extensions

They can prevent a Roblox game from loading on your system and can even be incorrectly flagged as illegal scripts by the anti-cheat system of the game servers, which will result in you getting kicked/banned from them.

The Ad-blocker browser extensions seem to cause the most problems. Therefore, the next solution is to disable ad blockers and all other active browser extensions before loading a game on Roblox. This will ensure that no extension is interfering with the game.

Follow the steps below to disable your browser extensions:

1. Open your browser.
2. Click on the Extensions icon in the top-right corner of the Window.
3. Select the “Manage Extensions” option.

So if you have them present in your Roblox Studio application, it would explain why you keep getting kicked from the server you’re trying to connect to.

To resolve this problem, you’ll need to remove all the scripts from your Roblox Studio app. You can either remove them one at a time or delete your entire creation at once. After you’ve gotten rid of the scripts, you should have no trouble connecting to the server.

6. Uninstall Cheat Programs (If Applicable)

If you have cheat programs installed on your system that give you unfair advantages in Roblox, they are likely the leading cause of the error you’re facing.

The most common cheat program used by Roblox players is an Auto-Clicker, which is a program that allows users to register mouse clicks as many times as they want each second. These cheat programs are banned from most Roblox servers, so using them will lead to you getting banned from said servers.

If you’re using such programs, make sure to completely uninstall them from your system. After you’ve uninstalled them, you will have no trouble connecting to servers.

To uninstall a program from your system, follow the steps listed below:

1. Press the Windows key to open the Start Menu.
2. Type “Control Panel” and hit enter.

   

3. Click on the “Uninstall a program” option present under “Programs.”
   

   

4. In the list of programs, locate your cheat program(s), right-click on them, and press Uninstall.

7. Add Firewall and Antivirus Exception for Roblox

The Firewall and Antivirus programs on our system help keep our systems safe by blocking unsafe third-party applications and processes from running.

However, Firewall and Antivirus programs often flag safe and trusted applications, such as Roblox, as unsafe and prevent them from running properly. They can either prevent Roblox from running at all or restrict the internet access of the application, causing all sorts of errors in-game.

To ensure that your Firewall and Antivirus programs aren’t conflicting with Roblox and causing this error, you must add an exception for the game in their menus.

To add an exception for Roblox in Windows Firewall, follow the steps listed below:

1. Press the Windows key to open the Start Menu.
2. Type “Windows Security” and hit enter.

   

3. Navigate to the “Firewall & Network Protection” tab.
4. Click on the “Allow an app through firewall” option.

   

5. Press the “Change Settings” button at the top-right corner.

   

6. Put a checkmark next to Roblox Player and Roblox Studio.

If you don’t see Roblox Player in the list of programs, click on the “Allow another app…” option at the bottom-right corner and add Roblox Player and Roblox Studio manually to the list.

8. Contact the Admin of the Server
